TCDC Media: Senses Fail vs. The Maine, All Time Low, and Boys Like Girls

In a recent interview with PropertyOfZack.com Senses Fail frontman Buddy Nielson took shots at All Time Low and The Maine. Neilson had this to say:

Yeah, a band like All Time Low should have no business being associated with a band like Senses Fail, but they are. There’s no similarity whatsoever in everything that we do. It’s weird. The Maine might as well be Matchbox 20. All Time Low might as well be Mickey Mouse Club. I like All Time Low, by the way. I do actually like them. I just like making fun of them. They did it to themselves. They could have been a fucking real band, but they decided to play the game, which is good, but the game never works.

This made big news on sites like AbsolutePunk.net where controversy was stirred. Many users, upset with Neilson’s comments, responded calling Buddy things like “hypocrite” and saying that his music doesn’t back up his big talk. Other users supported what Buddy said by praising him on his words.

Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low commented on AP.net post saying:

My band isn’t real? Who am I?

Boys Like Girls’ drummer, John Keefe, joined in, defending his friends in The Maine and All Time Low, and putting down Neilson’s band Senses Fail. Keefe, who was arrested last month, had this to say on his Twitter:

I just read this interview that Senses Fail did..talking shit on bands like the Maine, and ATL…because SF had any impact on music…shutup

After that post by Keefe made it to news sites and blogs, Senses Fail were quick to reply on their Twitter saying:

@johnBLG I’ll shut up when you guys starting writing your own songs.

Keefe is yet to reply to these comments.

I like how Senses Fail hates all my favorite band. I know now to never listen to that band.
